Boat Launch ramp at Hames Marina on Lewis Smith Lake

Every year, more privately owned launch ramps on Smith Lake close to the public for various reasons, leaving less options for Anglers and Boaters to access beautiful Lewis Smith Lake.  Our ramp here at the old 'Hames Marina' is still open for use with a low fee of $5. Visitors can pay cash, placing it in the launch box, or pay using VENMO @Marina-Management.
Here is a view of the ramp with the water low, to get a feel for where the concrete ends and angles to the right.
Over the last few years more than a few "cracks" have formed along the edges as the water level floods and recedes with the demands from Alabama power for their hydroelectric dam. (Without which Lewis Smith Lake would not exist). This winter, while the water level was down, we found a concrete professional who was up for the challenge.
A big thank you to Ken's Concrete Designs LLC for the great job fixing the cracked sides of the boat launch ramp! A quality job from a local professional for a reasonable price.
The other side
Looks ready for crappie season. Now all that's needed is the rain, to fill the lake back up! It's a good day to be at the Lake.
